Fire Box Pizza is one of Ottawa's most exciting and unique catering businesses. We are fully mobile, with our 6 foot Wood Fired Pizza Oven Trailer. We prepare fresh, scratch made Neapolitan style pizzas, made on the spot. Fire Box Pizza is perfect for birthday parties, staff events, community gatherings, weddings, pop-ups, markets, and so much more.

We make 12” medium size pizzas served Family Style, where guests come up and grab a few slices at a time, mingle, and come back for more!
We cut our pizzas in 8 slices, and we estimate roughly 5-6 slices per adult guest. (depending if there are apps)

You may choose up to a maximum of 4 different types of pizza per event.
​
For our setup; we will require a space of 15 feet by 15 feet, or 10 feet by 20 feet in order to fit our canopy and trailer. We show up to your event with everything that is required to make and serve the pizzas, including paper plates, napkins, and a garbage bin to dispose of all the trash. We do not require any gas, propane, or power in order to operate our setup. We rely solely on fire and ice. For us to be able to set up in a backyard, we will require a gate opening of at least 6 feet wide in order to push the trailer in to the backyard. In some cases, depending on the layout and proximity of neighbors, we are able to set up our oven on the side of the house and have our canopy and work station in the backyard a little closer to the party.

We will bring a few pizza boxes with us to your event in order to pack up any leftover pizzas for you.
​
All food and dough is made from scratch.

Due to the style of business, we unfortunately cannot accommodate Celiac guests. We would be able to accommodate gluten intolerant guests, there would just be an additional charge to make the special gluten free pizza dough. There would also be an additional charge to purchase vegan cheese for any dairy intolerant guests.
There is a minimum of a $650 food cost for a catered event (this comes out to roughly 30 pizzas, or 25 pizzas and a appetizer, depending on the menu selected). Appetizers and Desserts count toward this minimum spend as well.

We always bring a few extra pizza doughs and toppings to the events in order to be able to accommodate any additional pizzas required or in case of error on our part.
​
Our optimal party size is from 40 - 80 guests.
We are very accommodating, and can discuss the possibility of doing events for parties less or more than this number of guests.

We can cook 2 x 12" pizzas at a time, and it takes roughly 4 minutes to produce those pizzas.
For the larger group sizes, I like to make sure it is understood that it could take 1 hour - 2 hours to produce all of the necessary pizzas for all guests to be sufficiently full.

Due to the fact that we are limited to the amount of pizzas we can produce in a short time frame, Fire Box Pizza is not the right fit for the more formal events where all guests are expected to be eating at the exact same time.
​
A non-refundable deposit of $250 + hst is required to secure the date for an event. The deposit needs to be sent at least 2 weeks before the event date.
We also require a signed copy of the event agreement prior to the date of the event.
An invoice for the remainder of the event cost will be sent after the event has taken place in order to reflect the number of pizzas cooked.

A Catering Fee of 30% of total food cost will apply to all events.
A Labor Cost of $25 an hour will apply for each staff member required for the event. (usually 3 staff)

We charge a travel fee of $2 per km exceeding the 15km range from our prep space in Orleans (Youville Dr.).
​
At Fire Box Pizza, we don't believe in charging more for an event simply because it is a wedding. We give every event the same amount of care and attention to detail.
​
We arrive at events at least 1 hour before the time food is served, in order for our pizza oven and stones to heat up before use. It can take roughly the same amount of time to complete our tear down.
